Saturday 5 February 2011: the wind gusts menacingly, the Minety 1st XV lose 17-5 away against Supermarine but the seconds continue their winning streak with a 7-15 victory away against Midsomer Norton fourths.
The club’s lazy and good-for-nothing Press Officer claims that he was under the weather and didn’t go to either fixture. Thanks to the vigilance of Jack “Hipster” Ward and the epistolary skills of Steve “Wordsworth” Murray, though, he’s been told what happened and has posted details in the Match Reports section as usual.
(Big thanks to Jack and Steve for their help!)
Don’t forget the amazing Minety RFC 40th Anniversary Summer Ball (which has its own webpage – see menu opposite). The word is that tickets are going fast…
THIS WEEKEND: on Saturday, 12 February 2011, the firsts play at home against Cricklade (kick-off 2.30 pm) while the seconds take a well-earned rest. Then, on Sunday 13 February, the Minety Academy take on Wootton Bassett in their penultimate game of the season. If the Academy win this one, they will have won the league outright. Kick-off is at 2 pm and it would be great to have plenty of people there to support them.
