This weekend’s fixtures

Both Minety teams are on the road this weekend, with Tom  Claxton’s 1st XV at Melksham while Matt Stone’s 2nd XV travel to Warminster.  With playing resources stretched almost to, if not beyond, breaking point, both teams will hope to come away with league points and no injuries as they approach a very crowded run in to the end of the season.

With 1st placed Bradford playing third placed Avonvale and Warminster tackling Pewsey Vale, Minety will hope that a win will help close the gap on the leaders as they push for a top 4 place come the season’s end.  When Melksham visited Minety Fields earlier in the season they came away with a last gasp draw, and could have won the match had the last play conversion been successful.  It was a hugely frustrating result for a Minety team who were in form and looking to end the first half of the season on a high.

Warminster sit in third place in Dorset and Wilts Division 3 and will be a real challenge for the 2nd XV, whose 7th place in the league is under threat from both Bardford and Supermarine.

Full match reports will be available on the matches on this site on Sunday.
