This weekend’s fixtures

This weekend both Minety teams will be in action, the 1sts travelling to Melksham while the 2nd team host Bradford on Avon, both with 3pm kick offs.

The two matches are vitally important for both teams as we rapidly approach the end of the season.

The 1st XV travel to high flying Melksham hoping that they can pull a surprise out the bag and thus enhance their chances of finishing in 6th place in the table. The fight for 6th is squarely between Trowbridge and Minety and every point gained will be invaluable.

The 2nd XV host Bradford on Avon in the knowledge, as has been reported on this site earlier in the week, that the match is one for survival. The 2nd XV are just one concession away from having their record in the league expunged (yes, it is still a real word), like Supermarine and Melksham. The loss of those two teams from the league means that the 2nd XV now lie at the foot of the table. Whilst the result is important, just being on the pitch and playing a competitive match is vital for the 2nd XV if they are to guarantee themselves a place in the league next season.

Reports from both match will be available on this site on Sunday but it would be great if both teams could have some real support on the touchlines. The weather is set fair; come on, come and join us.
