Well, it doesn’t get much tougher than this weekend’s fixtures in both Division 1 and Division 3.
In Division 1 Tom Claxton’s 1st XV host top of the table Combe Down at Minety Fields, with a 3pm kick off time. Combe Down have topped the table since the first game of the season and are presently unbeaten in 18 league games, picking up the 4 try bonus point in 15 of those. A win on Saturday would almost guarantee the Bath outfit a promotion at the end of the season.
Minety come into their toughest home match of the season buoyed by their fine win at Chippenham last week and will be after maximum points in their attempts to overhaul 6th placed Trowbridge in the league.
Steve Wilson’s 2nd XV travel to Bath Saracens in Division 3. The Bath outfit, who ply their trade at Oldfield Park, have hit a rich vein of form recently and will be a challenge for the Minety 2nd XV.
Match reports will appear on this site on Sunday as usual.
