Congratulations to Cliff Garland and all the Unsung Heroes from across the BBC regions who were in attendance at SPOTY (Sports Personality of the Year 2015) last night in Belfast. Although he didn’t win the main prize, all of Minety RFC is proud of Cliff and all that he’s achieved over so many years with the club.
We congratulate the winner of the Unsung Hero Award, West Belfast youth football coach Damien Lindsay for the huge role he has played with his community work with the St James Swifts Football Club. Damien founded the club five years ago with the aim of helping to keep young people off the streets in a deprived part of his native city.
