Mastiff improvement for Minety

Minety v Swindon 2

The Minety first team had an excellent day at the office today, putting a string of defeats behind them to soundly beat Swindon seconds 22-10 in a muddy encounter at the Nigel Bishop Memorial Ground.

The Dreamers, meanwhile, were desperately short of players. They started with 14 and ended up with 12 but still managed to give Calne seconds a good game, in the end narrowly losing 13-19.

A report on the first team game is now in the Match Reports section. It includes some photographs but there are further pictures posted on the Minety RFC Facebook page.

A report on the second team game has also been added now. Again, it includes photographs, but there are further photos over on our Facebook page.

Next Saturday’s scheduled friendlies against Hungerford RFC have been cancelled.

Minety RFC features in new promotional video

Photos of Minety players feature prominently alongside England and New Zealand internationals in the pilot version of a new video to promote community rugby in England.

Watch an exclusive preview of the video here: Try Life Video.

“Try Life” was written and produced by Tetbury-based musician and song-writer Mark Wilderspin. It features music from his band Wilderspin and new words written specially to fit the tune of his song “Stroud Life”.

You can read more about Wilderspin on their website. If you like their music, you might be interested to know that they launch their new album “Something to Crow About” with a gig at the Minchinhampton Market House on Wednesday 21 November.

Please post any comments about the photos and the video on the Minety RFC Facebook page.
