No game for the firsts, but the Dreamers (aka the Minety 2nd XV) were in fine form on Saturday in a rambunctious Stroud Combination Cup game against Minchinhampton.
Four tries from four different scorers plus some splendid kicking from Andy Edwards were just about enough to see them through for a 30-25 victory. Full report in the Match Reports section.
Good to see Tim Vaughan up and about and on his feet… make that “foot”… again this Saturday. With his leg in a cast, the Minety flyhalf was there at the Clubhouse to watch England fail to repeat the Dreamers’ success on the field of play.
A warm thanks to all our friends at Bradford-on-Avon RFC for their best wishes and kind concern for Tim’s speedy recovery. Thanks, guys!
Next Saturday, 6 March 2010, the firsts travel to Bath for another must-win game, this time against Oldfield Old Boys. The seconds, meanwhile, play hosts to Chippenham thirds in a Dorset & Wilts Division 2 North fixture.
