Saturday’s encounter between Minety and Corsham firsts was an entertaining and closely fought affair but the match had to be abandoned following a serious injury to Minety flyhalf Tim Vaughan at the start of the second half. Insufficient playing time had elapsed for a result to be declared, so the fixture will now have to be replayed before the end of the season.

Minety RFC send their warm best wishes to Tim Vaughan for a full and speedy recovery and express their thanks to the Wiltshire Ambulance Service for their prompt response and resourceful expertise. We would also like to thank all at Corsham RFC for their practical help and patient understanding during the unexpected medical emergency.

Minety seconds, meanwhile, were defeated away from home by Bath Saracens.

There is a brief report on the abandoned game against Corsham in the Match Reports section and Nigel will add a report on the Bath Saracens game when he manages to get hold of Steve to find out the details.
