The RFU Injured Players Foundation does invaluable work supporting seriously injured players and helping to protect players through research into the causes and outcomes of serious injuries. Their website is here: http://www.rfuipf.org.uk/ For a first-hand account of how the RFU IPF works, speak to club secretary Andy Edwards, who broke his neck playing for Minety seconds early in the 2013-14 season and was greatly helped by the Foundation during his treatment and convalescence. The photographs on this page show Andy, still in his “halo” frame, attending Twickenham for the Barbarians game as a guest of the RFU IPF, along with his official Minety RFC minders, Steve Murray and Kevin Holdway. It would be great if, as both individuals and as a club, we could support the work of the RFU Injured Players Foundation, though of course we earnestly hope than no one else from Minety RFC will be seriously enough injured to need their support in future.
