Review of Dorset and Wilts Division 3

In truth, Minety did themselves no favours over the weekend with an administrative mix up meaning that the tie with Bath Saracens was called off, through lack of avaiability, much later than we, and they, would have liked.

A quick glance at the result(s) shows the uncomfortable state that the division has lapsed into, with just one match being contested and all the others conceded.

The authorities must do something about this state of affairs because not only are playing squads apparently smaller, but availability and getting into the habit of playing on a Saturday are also suffering. A glance at the fixture list for the 2nd XV shows that they have only played 6 matches this season, three of those in the first three rounds of the season and have not completed a match since 19th January. Of more concern is that there have been 7 conceded matches involving Minety this season.

A proposal for re-structuring the league was tabled at the last Minety RFC Committee meeting and will be published on this site in the next week or so.
