Results from the weekend

Minety’s loss at Combe Down may have dented the confidence but Warminster’s inability to win against 7th placed Chippenham means that Minety remainh in a very creditable 4th place in Dorest and Wilts Division 1 North.


Elsewhere, Bradford maintained their position at the top of the table with a win against the improving Pewsey Vale team while Avonvale, in the first season in D&W1N kept up the pressure with a win against Melksham.  Supermarine recorded trheir first win since week 3 of the season with a confidence boosting 32-12 defeat of Royal Wootton Bassett while Trowbridge inflicted another defeat on a Swindon side rooted at the foot of the division.


Having to concede another match, their 3rd concession of the season because of a lack of playing resources, means that they slip further down the table and now sit in 9th place, their lowest league position of the season.


Table topping Corsham and 2nd placed Trowbridge both enjoyed big wins on the road.  Corsham, unbeaten this season, inflicted a crushing defeat on 6th placed Bradford and now look odds on favourites for promotion at the end of the season.  Trowbridge mainatined the gap of 14 points by beating Chippenham.
