Minety players Tom McAllister and Dave Cooke took their pre season training to the extreme at Badminton Park on Sunday when they competed in the Tough Mudder Challenge. Dave had already experienced a Tough Mudder last year but for Tom it was a first experience of perhaps the most extreme obstacle course / run you can find, as the photographs in the gallery show.
In addition to having to climb 12 foot barriers, dive into a pool of ice, scramble through mud, cross muddy pools and climb almost vertical ascents, the two finished the challenge running over an obstacle course whilst being shocked by electrically charged wires – madness. Let’s hope they can keep the fighting spirit that saw them through this year’s South Western Tough Mudder through into the 2017 / 18 season, which starts soon for Minety RFC.
