North Dorset 1st XV 55 pts – Minety 1st XV 0 pts

A badly understrength Minety team were no match for North Dorset on their own home turf but still gave the best account of themselves that they could.

With many first team regulars unavailable, Minety travelled to North Dorset with no fewer than five conscripts from the second  XV.

In the event, the draftees, Steve Murray, Matt Oliver, Gareth Pearce, Luke Radcliffe and Ben Scott, all played extremely well. Wingers Radcliffe and Scott were making their first team debuts but clearly relished the occasion and seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.

As a team, though, Minety struggled to make an impact against fitter, faster, and better drilled opponents. North Dorset ran in a steady stream of points, while the visitors kept battling doggedly away, pushing for the line and still trying to score for as long as the game lasted.
