It’s Cup week in the Dorset and Wilts leagues and Minety have a bye through to the semi final of the Senior Men’s Vase competition. We were the fortunate to benefit from Calne’s decision to forfeit the first round tie last month and now we find that we have a bye through to semi final against teams who will be playing their quarter round ties on Saturday.
It will be a good break for the Minety squads before the hectic run in to Christmas begins. Hopefully all of the extensive drainage work that has been completed on all three pitches will enable us to run up to and beyond Christmas without all of the problems that have beset the club in the past few years with waterlogged and boggy ground playing havoc with the fixtures and training schedules.
Rugby returns to Minety on the 20th October with the 1st XV travelling to Trowbridge, hoping to maintain and extend their fine run of bonus point winning matches that has taken them up to 4th in Division 1 while the 2nd XV will have a home match against Warminster, again hoping to build on their confidence inspiring victory last time out against Melksham.
Training for all continues on Tuesday night under the lights at Minety with a 7pm start. All welcome!
