Both Minety teams are at home for the first time in 2018 and will be looking for maximum points at Minety Fields on Saturday afternoon.

Tom Claxton’s 1st XV go into Saturday’s match in 5th place with 8 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses from their 13 league matches completed this season.  Their 42 points put them 29 points clear of their opponents, Supermarine, who lie in 10th place with 3 wins and 9 losses from their 12 league matches.

The 1st XV go into the match unbeaten since 11th November with 4 wins and a draw in their last 5 matches, including the two shut outs of Warminster and Royal Wootton Bassett at the start of 2018.  Supermarine started the season strongly with three straight wins.  Indeed, Minety were the first team to inflict a defeat on the Swindon team when they won at Supermarine by 38-5 on 7th October.  Since then Supermarine have lost all 9 matches in the league and find themselves dangerously placed in the league.  Heavy defeats by the league’s top teams Combe Down, Warminster and Bradford have dented Supermarine’s league stats and in their last match they were on the end of a shut out at home to Pewsey Vale, losing 0-26.

Matt Stone’s 2nd XV take on Chippenham at Minety Fields on Saturday, kick off 2.15pm.  Minety lie 6th in the table with 6 wins and 5 losses garnering them 26 points.  Their opponents are presently in 4th place with 7 wins and 5 losses from their 12 completed league fixtures.

Minety will be looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat at Trowbridge last weekend.  Having worked hard to match thier illustrious opponents in the first half, going in 5-0 down, the flood gates rather opened in the second half and Matt Stone will be looking for a strong start against a good Chippenham in what will be their first home match since 25th November.

Chippenham come into the game with confidence having seen off 2nd placed Warminster in their last match.

Reports on the matches will be posted here on the site on Sunday morning.
