Minety 2nd XV v Dursley 2nd XV

Saturday 19 March 2011

Stroud & District Combination Junior Cup

Mismatch

Minety 2nd XV 0 pts – Dursley 2nd XV 91 pts

In what proved to be a complete mismatch, Minety seconds were overwhelmed by a much stronger Dursley 2nd XV.

Pitted together in an annual competition which crosses both county and league boundaries, Minety found themselves hopelessly outgunned. Dursley scored freely and their hosts were unable to do much about it.

Minety fullback Andy Tuck needed stitches after receiving a kick to the face, and three of his team mates were also forced to retire from the game with injuries which included suspected broken ribs.

Fifteen minutes into the second half, with Dursley scoring virtually at will and having already accumulated 91 points, Minety threw in the towel and conceded the fixture.

This Saturday, Minety seconds return to league action away against Westbury seconds.
