Minety’s win over Trowbridge was made all the more important by other results at the top of the table where all of the top 4 teams won their matches against lower opposition. Bradford’s impressive win at Supermarine keeps them at the top of the table, and they face Minety next week in the mud at Minety. Warminster put up a good fight against Combe Down but went down eventually while 3rd placed Avonvale kept up their impressive run of form with a solid win at Wootton Bassett. Melksham saw off bottom team Swindon quite easily while Pewsey Vale made light work of Chippenham.
Saturday’s 2nd XV match against Bradford was called off when the opposition were unable to put out a team.
