D&W Senior Vase Semi Final

Just one fixture for Minety this weekend, but it could be one of the most significant on the fixture list for the North Wiltshire club. With a 2pm kick off (to cater for any extra time that may be required) Minety entertain Warminster in the semi final of the Dorset and Wilts Senior Vase competition, a competition that MInety famously won at Warminster against Lytchett Minster on Saturday 29th November 2015.

Victory for the village team would mean a final against either Puddletown or Dorset Dockers.

Tom Claxton, Andy Grayson and the team will not be taking anything for granted against a powerful Warminster side who defeated Minety on the opening day of the seasonj and who now lie in 4th place in the league table, 6 poinmts clear of Minety having won 5 or their 7 league matches this season.

The game will be played on one of the “top” pitches at Minety and not on the main one; the recent heavy rain has washed away some of the sand in the drainage system and this is to be replensihed in the next few days, but not in time for such an important fixture.

If you can get down to Minety Fields to support the lads, your support would be most appreciated.

A full match report will appear on this website on Sunday.
