Club statement

Dear Members and friends of Minety RFC,

This afternoon, the PM announced a series of measures to deal with Covid-19 including the requirement to avoid all non-essential social contact. In line with this, the RFU has taken the decision, in the interests of players, coaches, referees, volunteers, supporters and the wider rugby union community, to suspend all rugby activity in England from 17 March to 14 April 2020. This includes club training, league and cup matches plus rugby education courses. The RFU will continue to review and monitor Government advice and will provide detailed updates on the impact to the season in the coming weeks. Information will be provided via the RFU website as it becomes available. https://www.englandrugby.com/home

Given the above, Minety RFC announce that all rugby activity will cease until further notice. In the meantime, we hope your day to day lives continue as normally as possible and look forward to seeing everyone back at the Club before too long. Like the RFU, we also encourage players at all levels (and members) to maintain their own personal fitness and keep active during this time, while following Government guidelines about safe distance and safe exercise environments.

Jack Ward

Chairman

Minety RFC Executive Committee

Further updates will be carried on this website.
