All eyes on Devizes

With both Minety teams involved in league action away at Devizes this weekend (kick offs at 2.15pm), let’s take a look at the opposition.

Devizes II will be looking to turn around their Dorset and Wilts Division 1 North fortunes after a bit of a beating last time out at  Melksham, where they went down by 70-7 versus Melksham, the second time they have leaked more than 70 points in a game (the first being an 73-0 drubbing at league leaders Coombe Down). Down in 10th place in the table with one win from 12 matches, Devizes II will be hopeful of avenging a tight 31-17 defeat earlier in the season at Minety Fields.

Minety IIs will be hopeful that they can put a stuttering start to 2016 behind them when they take on Devizes IIIs.  The home team lost their last match by 62-5 against Swindon IIIs and will be looking to improve upon their 9th place in the Dorset and Wilts Division 3 North table where they have recorded 3 wins from 11 matches played.  After a difficult start to the season, which included a tight 24-22 defeat at Minety Fields, Devizes IIIs have made strides forward, winning two of their league matches in December.

Minety 1st XV will be targeting a win ton Saturday to help them maintain their second place in the league whilst also applying pressure on league leaders Coombe Down.

Minety IIs aim to consolidate their 5th place in the league whilst keeping as close to the league leaders as possible.

Full match reports on Saturday evening or Sunday morning, depending upon how much alcohol is consumed after the match!
