A return to league action

Minety 1st XV return to league action after the disappointment of the loss in the Regional semi final last week.  In their first league encounter of 2016 the home side welcome Swindon II’s to Minety Fields for a Dorset and Wilts Division 1 North clash.

The home side, unbeaten in the league since October, won the previous encounter at Swindon by 22-12 back in September and will look to build on their 38 league points and close the gap on top of the table Coombe Down.

Swindon II’s have struggled a bit this season having won just 3 of their 11 fixtures to leave themselves towwards the bottom of the table with 14 points from their 11 played matches.  Having won just once on the road at fellow strugglers Colerne, the Swindon team will be looking to avenge their home defeat to Minety in September.

Minety 2nds travel to Alfdred’s Nomads in a clash which sees both teams near the top of the table.  Minety find themselves in 4th place in the Dorset and Wilts North Division 3 table with 27 points from their 11 matches, just two points behind Alfred’s who have 29 points from 10 completed fixtures and find themselves in 3rd place.

Minety 2nds will be looking to get their season back on track after their heavy loss at Corsham last week.

Both matches kick off at 2.15pm.
