Minety ended their league season in style with both senior teams winning handsomely at home.
The firsts beat Fairford 45-0 while the Dreamers cruised past Trowbridge thirds 70-7!
Reports on both games are now in the Match Reports section.
Both first and second teams ended with a league record of Won 13, Lost 9, coming fifth and fourth in Dorset & Wilts Divisions 1 and 3 North respectively.
We also said fond farewells to a trio of Minety characters on Saturday.
Former club chairman “Shifty” Sean Richards played his last game for the club after 30 years of loyal service on the field.
It was also Ralph Wells’ final match after four years with Minety.
And it was Gemma our physio’s final fixture, too, after five years on the touchline, faithfully patching up the Dreamers’ match-day injuries. Thank you, Gemma!
This Saturday, 21 April 2012, we’ve got the Minety Sevens to look forward to. It’s an 11 am start for non-stop rugby action plus beer tent, barbecue, bouncy council, bucking bronco and an ice cream van too. It should be a great day for the whole family. Everyone’s invited – see you there!
