A bad day at the office

Saturday 19 March 2011: both Minety’s senior teams suffered heavy defeats on Saturday.

The 1st XV went down 40-3 away against Trowbridge seconds. A big thank you to Tom Fitzcharles for giving the press officer details of what happened in that game. A match report is now available in the Match Reports section.

The Dream Team, meanwhile, found themselves completely mismatched in the Stroud & District Junior Cup, and went down 0-91 to Dursley seconds. There’s a brief report in the Match Reports section, but it won’t add much to what you’ve just read.

Let’s hope that Minety can be a little more competitive this Saturday, 26 March 2011, as the firsts play away against our near neighbours at Cricklade while the seconds travel south to take on their counterparts at Westbury.

Meanwhile, don’t forget…

* See The Iron Age for further details of a fund-raising effort in memory of the late John Lewis involving a bike ride from London to Paris to raise money for the British Lung Foundation.

* The online Minety RFC Club Shop is now open for business. To visit the shop, go to the Club Shop link in the menu list on the right of the screen. Place your order online and the items will be delivered to your door. Please note that all orders are processed once a month, irrespective of when the orders were placed.

* Tickets are still (just!) available for the Minety RFC 40th Anniversary Summer Ball. Click on the menu link for details, but don’t leave it too long now.
