We are delighted to announce that Andy Grayson and Hywel Rees will be our coaches for the 2017 – 2018 season.
Andy joins us as head coach at Minety RFC this season having previously had recent spells coaching at Cricklade Rfc and Corsham Rfc. He has been coaching for 10 years and is currently working for England Rugby on the All Schools project, coaching in secondary schools in Swindon. He looks forward to working with both teams.
Hywel comes to us from playing and coaching across multiple sections over the last 14 years at Supermarine. He has a great passion for the game and is a particular fan of open, expansive rugby and has learned his trade through working with coaches from all over the world and adopting and adapting their ideas. When asked what persuaded him to be part of the coaching set up he replied “I’ve always had a soft spot for the club having played here many times over the years so when Andy asked if I’d be interested I had to say yes. There is huge potential here with a young but very talented back line. I am really looking forward to helping them develop into a highly attacking outfit.”
We’re delighted to have both Andy and Hywel on board for the new season and will be bringing you more about our new coaches in the weeks leading up to the start of the season.
The club would like to express their thanks to Richard Hall for his work with the squad last year and also to Craig Smith for stepping into the breach in the second half of the season.
